2,4,5-Trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) is a herbicide banned in the U.S. since 1985. It was formerly used on residential and commercial lawns, and occasionally on food crops. 2,4,5-T contained the impurity dioxin, which is highly toxic to people and wildlife.
