Our pets deserve the best

Pet owners strive to take the best care of their furry friends and family, whether that’s giving them healthy food, long walks in the park or other outdoor adventures.

But there’s one exposure many pet parents don’t think about: chemical exposures and risks from pet grooming products.

And even if they do worry about this, it can be hard to find out what’s in the products, because manufacturers are not required to list ingredients on labels.

EWG understands that some pet grooming companies are trying to make safer products. But we also know these companies are grappling with a lack of regulatory and industry guidance about devising formulations that don’t pose a risk to pets or their owners.

EWG Verified is here to help. The mark is the first pet grooming certification backed by scientists, engineers and toxicologists and focused on ingredient transparency, health and product safety, and consumer education. We believe when it comes to our and our pets’ health and safety, there should be no shortcuts.
